As the mushroom mycelium eats the substrate, your shiitake block will mature from white to brown over the next 4-8 weeks. Ideally you should introduce your shiitake block to a fruiting environment when it’s at least 3/4 brown
As soon as the block turns brown, it will also start to form little bumps or premature mushroom fruits. Soon your mushrooms will grow bigger and bigger until its ready to eat!
